The Aztec mine gradually improves as depth is attained Considerable dead work has been performed in the last week, bnt now sinking will be resum ed. The ore body remains solid six leet and over, and is gradually increas ing. Assays just received by Manager Magee from the Secretary, show $236.60; $72.40; 433.09: ?37.49; 1558.70 and $30.68 per ion, while a let- ter from the President, Mr. Benedict, says : " The ores you haye sent lor as say being an average of the mine, it is h safe calculation to make, that our whole ore-birdy will go in the neigh. borhood of 200 per tun, and that is enough." Everything about the Aztec mine seems to be highly prosperous. Some ore from tlte luca mine sent to San Francisco and assaged by Profes sor Thomas Price, gave results way up in the hundreds. Before attempting to drive cattle or sheep over tbe great Col orado desert in California, the owner should be familiar with the route its lack of water, feed, &c.
