Jim Stone, the Negro charged with outraging Mrs. J. M. E. Green, 'of this cH;, was l)rought her Sunday from Lohiiville, "where he was taken when arretted to prcrent a lynching. His examining trial is to talte place Tuesday, but a mob is expect to lynch him before that time arrives. The indications here at 10:30 Sunday night were that Stone would certainly be lynched before morning. A great many strangers have arrived in tunn, but there are no groups and the town marshal is not called upon to arre&t any disturbers. Information from Jackson Sunday night was to the effect that the friends of Deputy United States Marshal Will Byrd will make no attempt to lynch Jacob Neace and Dan Farler. who, it is alleged, so foully murdered him on Thursday last, and who were jailed here Saturday niht by Detective George W. Drake. United States Marshal Jim Blackburn has assured Ilyrd's friends that the murderers will be tried in the federal court at Louisville.
