Tigerettes Fall Hard by Robert B use ha Where were the Bas- trop Bearettes when the lights went out last Thurs- day night. Well, they were in process of hold- ing off a desperate Smith- ville Tigerette rally in a game played on the Bas- trop hardwood. Yes, Bastrop enjoyed a ^ 1 -56 advantage when a brief power shortage darkened the gym with 2:35 remaining in the teams' rival matchup. It was the Bearettes first comfortable lead of the week after being de- voured earlier by Weimar. Still Bastrop had some degree of restlessness. Forwards Peggy Tay- lor and Renee Henderson denied that wish by col- lecting fouls, and guards Bonita Bennett, Shirley Wallace, and Rose Taylor employed a steady pass- ing game...
