soundout By David Webb questions with Bill Bullard Bill Bullard is a costume designer who outfits the casts of the Garland Civic Theater, Uptown Players and other production companies. This year, he and his design partner, Susie Shankle, received the Leon Rabin Award for the costumes in "Kiss of the Spider Woman," and the Theater Critics Award for their work on "Red Scare on Sunset Boulevard." The design duo worked on the Janine Turner film, "Trip in a Summer Dress," which premiered in Dallas this year. Bullard, a former nurse, began designing costumes 10 years ago when he was asked for help on a play. How irnportant is your work to you? If it wasn't for costume designing, I probably wouldn't be here. It's given me an incentive to get up and go in the morning, even with all of the medication I'm on. I have a place to be. It's pretty much everything. The people I've met have been a total inspiration. What's it like behind the scenes of a play designing costumes and outfitting the act...

dossier Mrs. Doubtfire strikes back with talk of sequel She exposed her true identity at the end of the first film, but that's not stopping Euphegenia Doubtfire from planning a return to multiplex screens. Robin Williams is in early talks to step back inside the Big Beautiful Woman padding and grandmotherly wig, reprising his role as the Scottish nanny in a sequel to the 1993 bit "Mrs. Doubtfire," That film, about a divorced San Francisco dad who disguises himself as a woman to gain access to his children, grossed over $200 mil- lion and assisted in further mainstreaming the idea of drag. As it stands now, Williams is set to co-pro- duce the picture with his wife, Marsha Williams. Bonnie Hunt ("Life with Bonnie") is in talks to write the question Francisco man "Ciao! Manhattan," until now. Sienna Miller (co-star of "Alfie," opposite her real-life leading man, Jude Law) has signed on to play the doomed Sedgwick in the feature "Factory Girl." localnews Judge to reconsider adult video star s sentence Dalton held in solitary confinement after flushing toilet during search; entertainer's father calls son's legal entanglement a nightmare for family By David Webb Staff Writer The Denton County judge who sentenced X- rated entertainment star Mark Dalton to five years in prison will hear a motion to reconsider the decision on Dec. 16. Dallas attorney Scott Palmer filed a motion for reconsideration in state district Judge Carmen Rivera-Worley's court this week. The motion urges the judge to reconsider last month's deci- sion to revoke Dalton's probation on a 2002 con- trolled substance conviction and to free him immediately. Dalton, 24, whose real name is Jeramy James Sons, has been held at the Denton County Jail since a probation revocation hearing on Nov. 4. The judge revoked Dalton's probation after hear- ing bis former girlfriend, Rebecca Jo Francis, 20, testify that he assaulted her in his Denton home on April. 2 Palmer con...

tion," Martin testified. Dalton was headed for completion of probation, she added, because late fee payments and delayed community service are usually not held against a probationer unless some other problem arises. Martin said that Dalton reported his arrest on the assault charge to her, telling her that it involved a disagreement about Francis lying to him and taking money. Both Dalton and Francis have accused each other of being obsessively jealous and mentally and physically abusive. Dalton has also accused Francis of being a "habitual liar." Testimony showed that their argument started over an untruthful statement she made to him. The pair reconciled after the alleged assault took place, testimony indicated. Francis' mother, Roxie Jung Francis, said she had been concerned that Dalton was abusive to her daughter. She insisted that Francis file a police report about the alleged assault. Roxie Francis, 48, who is a handgun instructor, also was involved in an assault involving a 39...

nationalnews Court rules colleges can ban military recruiters, keep funds Federal lawyers may appeal decision stopping government from denying funding to 25 law schools; decision could affect universities nationwide By David B. Caruso Associated Press PHILADELPHIA — Colleges and universi- ties can ban military recruiters from campus without fear of losing federal money, an appeals court has ruled. The 3rd l.'.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday struck down a decade-old federal law known as the Solomon Amendment, saying it infringed on the free speech rights of law schools that had sought to limit on-campus recruiting in response to the military's ban on homosexuals. Ruling in a lawsuit brought by a coalition of 25 law schools around the country, a three-judge panel said that the government's threat to yank funding amounted to compelling the schools to take part in speech they didn't agree with.
