" * f ■%&&-*[?-4 THE PATHFINDERS. The Pathfinders who have made a trip from Red river to the Gulf passed here Wednesday on their return from Galveston to the paint from which they started. Caldwell was reachsd at 1:25 o'clock. J. W. Jenkins in a Ford, with County Judge R. J. Alexander, Mayor J. A. Gray met the party three miles out from Caldwell and escorted them into the eity. Dinner had been prepared for the visitors by the committee and after a hurri- ed meal, a meeting was held on the public square at which time Prof. Potts explained the road bonding question, and told the purpose oí this s'ate highway and while Mr. Potts did not say so, the impression is that the west side of the river has a very good chance to get a highway across the state if Caldwell and one or two other towns along the line will do their part. The fact of the matter, the highway has already been provided for up to the Burleson county line, as soon as the Washington county road bonds are authorized. ...
