m wr Mosquito Exterminator and its Bear Ing on the Yellow Fever Question and Modern Quarantines An Address dy Dr. Trueheart, City Health Officer of Galveston, Delivered at the Annual Conference of City and County Health Officers held with the State Health Department at Austin, Texas, May 2, \m>. No truth in tho realm of mod em eanitarn science has been more conclusively demonstrated than the fact that the female etegomyia fasciata mosquito is abnolutely the only agency by 'whioh Yellow Fevor can be spread , and that therefore the thorough and systematically maintained extermination of thia moequito constitutes the whole gist, the sine quanon in success- fully dealing with.the Yellow Fever question; and indeed, if rightly appreciated, this fact al- so puts a radicully new phase on the question of modern quaran- tines. With this mosquito ex- tinct the disease is robbed of its terrors; the liability to its in- vasion lessened; its spread ren- dered oertain of oontrol, and even its u...

Think of a minister being intimi- dated by the cry of "politics,'' when your name and your family are subject to ruin from this fiendish business! Pray for its downfall! Preach for its down- fall! Then be sure you vote as you pray and preach.—Ex. Recently there came up ma te s here calling for public exprea- ion. Two of our town ministers spoke out, the third said that be had tried and couldn't see any good effect. Just gliding along the line of the least resistance.
