POLICE INTELLIGENCE.   SATURDAY, 10TH NOVEMBER, 1860. (Before the Police Magistrate, J. Lloyd, R.N., and G. P. Keon, Esqs., J.P.'s) OTWAY V. HOMAN.—VAGRANCY.—Dr. Otway stated that he was a surgeon and physician, residing at present in Eden. On Sunday, 4th November, he was conversing with Captain Doran, and Mr. Henri- ques, in the Commercial Hotel. Dr. Homan called me out, he was in company with Dr. Young at the time. I answered, that I did not, I said, that I was a member of the Mining Board of Victoria, and that I ssisted at its organisation in the year   1854. Dr. Homan then, in a very insulting manner   said, that I did tell him I belonged to the Medical Board of Victoria. I felt very much annoyed to be tols distinctly—   (Here Mr. Barclay t...

The follow- ing extracts from letters received by Dr. Macadam, will fully explain its nature :— "Expedition Camp, Menindie, New South Wales, 16th October, 1860. "Sir,—I have the honour to report that, on the 9th inst., Mr. Landells tendered his resignation to me under the following circumstances. " I told him that I did not think it desirable to take on rum for the camels. He said, that in that case he would not be responsible for them. I re- plied, that he was responsible to me, and must act under my instructions. He then tendered his resignation. Upon the following day I read a letter to him, reporting his resignation to you, upon which, and without any solicitation upon my part, he with- drew it. I afterwards heard that he had been tam- pering with the men. I forward a statement from Mr. Hodgkinson of what took place between him and Mr. Landells. Mr. Wills also made a sta...
