The most probable condition of affairs, gather ed from the various" rumors up to Friday night is that the main body of them still remained at Batesville, whilst some 1,300 of them with six howitzers had advanced to Jackson port. Alf.Johnson's spy company of Texas, had left Little Rock to bring in definite information. There was a riumor that the enemy reached Sear cy, 50 miles from our capital, but that seems contradicted since. There is no doubt of the presence o f the enemy, but their designs are yet uncertain. Some suppose they are intent upon taking Little Rock; and are waiting the arrival of Com missary stores by way of Cairo. Others that their destination is in Memphis, by way of White River....
