n^lpiLl I HOME HINTS. Jamestown Has Outgrown 1U Tillage Clothes AndShenld be Famished With The Garb of ft City. The Matter or Health 'More Important Than Wealth, and Both May be Frittered away by Neglect. titoviframont. From the Daily, Wednesday. The question of the proper and best form of government for our town is one that will soon come before our people in a more tangible form. Jamestown has outgrown the juvenile garments of a vil lage and requires the more adult garb of a city. While there is more expense at tached to a city form of government than that of a village, there are compensating advantages that more than make up the difference. There are many questions that will soon be upon us. that are too ponderous for a village government to handle, the principal one of which is that of sewerage, one that must be met and disposed of sooner or later and tha sooner the better. The health of the city is of first importance and is a large element of its wealth. To allow the city to...

mk St, ?fct£iuK tV The Alert DAILY AND WEEKLY MARSHALL McCLURE. The Minnesota state house approaches completion. The last stone of the ma sonry of the tower was laid yesterday, to the music of artillery on the ground be low and speechmiking on the heights above. It is still hoped to have the legis lative chambers ready for the sessions of the senate and house this winter. There is no denying the fact that our democratic friends are about to put a good ticket in the field and it might be well for good republicans to stand up and show their hands. It would be very humilia ting indeed to the republicans of this county to meet with defeat, and especially so when we consider that they are largely the majority. There is no accounting for tastes nor is there any accounting for the excentric feelings by which the individual is mitved. The same St. Loui3 citizens who sigued Col. Cockrell's bail bond also subscribed liberally to the fund for the dead Slay Back's fatuity. Sucu a peculiar m...

NEW ENTERPRISE The Unterriflcd -Last Night Failed to Enthuse Uniii They Retired From the Hall and Tackled the Booze. From the Daily, Wednesday. Tne Brookings Meeting Last Night. The democratic meeting last night was noted more for the absence than the people. After an energetic advertising by handbills and from the street corners through the day and the drumming of the band by night but few put in an appear ance up to 9 o'clock, when several of the few that had congregated becoming tired and disgusted with the waiting went away. The Alert DAILY AND WEEKLY MARSHALL MCCLURE. The people in the Fifth Minnesota dis trict will be glad when the election is over, if for no other reason than that it will put a stop to the most disgraceful contest of the campaign. llev. H. Ifsff KIDDER KAPITAL A Day of Judgment Coming for the Bal lot Miners Who Voted on the Sly in Kidder County. The Several Lines of Projected Railroad that hare an Eye of Faith on North From Thursday's Daily. Music in the Air. The rumbling thunders of a coming storm the ominous swaying of an earth quake the gathering clouds of a whirl wind are seen in the direction of Kidder county. The hosts are gathering for the frav, and the lawyers, with the instinct of Jobo's war horse, snilf the battle from afar off. An Alert reporter late yester day evening came into possession of some of the facts that will make a sensation in town as astounding as a thunder stroke from a clear sky. Preparations arc now being made for the wholesale arrest of il legal voters, and that some citizens of Jamestown are liable to become entangled in the meshes of the law for voting in Kidder county on the county seat ques tion. Enough is now known to justify the predication that the "war will be carried into Af...
