8 THE TIMES NEW BLOOM FIELD, PA., MAY 1, 1677. San Francisco Bulldozed. A bull captured and held for several liouri about half of Ban Francisco the other day. First, after getting away from the vaquero, he paid his attention to a lady with a red nhawl. He gave her a lift. Then lie charged a lamp post which repulsed him, , after which he took possession of Front street, which Is entirely occupied by large wholesale sfbres. Here the pursuing vaiiliero, with mustang and lasso, appeared. On the lirst round bull upset mustang and l icier ; on the second he lifted them again ; on the third he pulled saddle and rider over the mustang's head. Then be changed his base to another part of the city. The cry for about a mile was "Look out for the bull." Fedestralns sought shelter in stores, and stores with large glass fronts shut np. A young man named Ragai was riding along tlio road a few miloa beyond Castro tlllo, whon two men rode up to bim from the brush by the roadside, and demanded his money. Both bad their faces masked, but .did not present their revolvers, which they oarrlrd in sight, simply saying that they didn't think it necessary to draw on him, as be was ao young. He had $ 19 in hl pocket and a considerable sum in hln boots. The robbers took the $19. They are o continually quite overlooked In cleaning rooms where contagious dis eases have been, and are doubtless the means of carrying dlsenses to others. I use damp cornmeal and salt. To sweep a carpet thoroughly with a broom, take a pint of meal and a half plntof salt and moisten them together with Just water enough to keep the uieal from flying about, not wet enough to stick to the carpet; sprinkle pretty thickly on one side of the room, and sweep straight across ; add a little more meal as the dust begins to fly this cleans the carpet nicely, too. Hut for dally sweeping I use a carpet-sweeper; this effectually gathers up the dust, shreds, and particles, of lint which usually fly furious...
