Mr. Leon Goertz, promoter for the event, said there were over 800 entries and this was the biggest Enduro held in the state. There were approxi- mately 4,000 people who attended and the race was 80 miles long. Outside of the fact that the Enduro was the biggest ever, the Texas Highway Department was on the scene as a result of several complaints. It seems that the course of the Enduro included several farm to market roads and since these roads had not been closed off this was naturally causing a problem to motorists. Sgt.
