That's nice. The farmers needed it. But I. as it turned out. did not. In the course of one hour, my nice, dry, snug little home became Lake Bastrop II. I went to sleep thinking how comfortable it is to be safely inside, listen- ing to the sound of rain on a tin roof. I awoke one hour later. Hmm, she says to herself (still somewhat asleep). That carpet sure is a funny color. I put my right foot on the floor. Squish. By the time the left foot reached ground (or rather, touched bottom), 1 was thoroughly awake. Some people live in low - rent housing; mine is simply low. Hence, of the four inches of rain that fell that day, an inch of it was in the house, two inches in the kitchen and the bathroom. Architect Joe Stoeltje of Wilson.
