The Littorals have promised all along that they will not disturb tho foreign policy of the present Government; but it is evident that if they hare a large majority they will attempt a joint coercion of Turkey. There mis a decidedly larger Tory vote in the city than for some time post Sir Julius Vo#eli Sir Sydney Waterloo, Sir John Lubbock, Sir Julian Goldsmid, and Mr. H. H. C. liaikes, have been defeated.

YeB tcrdiiy the Liberals gained 23 scats and the Conservatives 8. This makes a total of 48 seats gained by the Liberals and 17 only by the Conservatives. Notwithstundingthc fuel that Mr. Gladstone was a candidate for the Midlothian, ha was elected for Leeds by a large majority over the Conservative candidate. The Marquis of Hartiagton was returned for tbe Itadnor boroughs unopposed. The Konthwark election resulted in the return of Mr. Dun, tbe Liocral candidate, and Mr. Shipton, a Radical, by a lar#e majority over Mr. Clarke, the Conservative member who was returned in February last, and Colonel Beresford, who was also a Conserva tive. The Conservative Government majority is completely gone, and the organs of that party to-day publish articles wheroiu they fore shadow the opinion that a change of Ministry is now inevitable.
