SFOOTBALL. They say" there is many aialip'twixt the cup and the lip," and an exemplifi cation of this truism is likely to occur in regard to the recent Irvine-Mont gomery trophy. We learn that through the match between Yarri Glen and Coranderrk being allowed, to lapse, Lilydate, who are listed to play Coran derrk to-morrow, have determined to fulfil their engagement; so by winning the match the Dale will place their score on even terms with that of Yarra Glen. Consequently the cup will be neither won nor lost till a final struggle takes place between the Dale and the Glen.
