MISHAP TO CASINO. • A serious accident was narrowly averted on Tuesday eienine wheni the Casino arrived. writes our Port Fairy correspondent. ,She camie no the river at a greater sneed than usual, and when comiii' aroundrl Martin's Point crashed iinto the fishermen's wharf, anid 'also into two of the fishing boats moored aloneside which were slightly damaged: the mast of one being smashed to nieces. Both boats were soneezed almost fiat. but appeared to ri-ht themselves afterwards. There were two ladies and two children in one df .the. boats at the timein Fortu nately these were dragred on the wharf a few seconds before the collision occurredi. One of the ladies: who was bhadly bruised. fainted front fright. Ac cidents have haDDened at this spot on several occasions due to the sharp bend of the river on the opposite side. The contractors are now busily engag ed removine this and when' completed all cause of daneer should then be re moved.
