Resignation of Shire Engineer. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra and Yea Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheron Express — 10 September 1909

Resignation of Shire Engineer. At the council meeting on Monday last, the resignation of the shire secretary and engineer (Mr P. L. Edwardes) was ac- cepted with regret, he having been ap- pointed engineer to the Shire of Korong, the position he held previous to accepting office in this shire. Cr Scale moved- "That the resignation of the engineer be accepted with regret, and that a reference be given him under the seal of the council." He said he regretted moving the motion. During the time that Mr Edwardes had been their engineer he had always proved him- self to be a good man in the working of the shire. It spoke well for his ability as an engineer when he was appointed again to the position which he left to come here. Mr Edwardes had been under a disadvantage and was really doing the work of two men. He could not be in the office and all over the shire at the same time. He was sorry they were losing the sorvices of the engineer. Cr Murray seconded the motion, and remarked the eng...
