OUR attention has agr.tu liecn drawn to the subject of prospecting associations, by a correspondent, who has addressed lis a letter which will bo found in an other column. It is not many days since a proposition to establish a pro specting association was submitted to a meeting of diggers, but rejected by n large majority, who proposed to estab lish a mutual protection society. About three months since, the party who then contemplated prospecting the flats below the quartz reef on the road to the Buckland, appealed to the public in Becclnvorth lor pecuniary assistance as well as the aid of public opinion to wards obtaining a more extended claim than is granted under the present regu lations.
