APPLICATION OF POTASH MANURES. One important feature in the skilful use of artificials ' is the proper sea son of the year to apply.them (.re marks the "North British Agricul turist"). This point has far greater significance than most farmers com monly imagine. Especially is this true in the case of kainit unci potash manure salts, where success or failure may depend on the season of applica tion. Kainit is a very useful manure if applied at the right time. If ap plied at the wronjj time, it may be "thrown away as far cs the crop in question is concerned ; it .might even be hurtful to some crops if used at a wrong time. The results of a large number of experiments conducted on the Con tinent and in Great Britain give valuable information on this point. HOUSEHOLD " HINTS. Little Cheese Cre.ams.—Take 2 eggs, 3 tablespoonfuls milk, I ox. grated cheese, a few grains of cayenne, pinch of salt. Beat the eggs slightly and mi.\'~"with them the cheese, milk and seasoning. Butter some small moulds, divide the mixture be tween them, set them in a sauce pan with a small quantity of water, and steam very slowly until set, or place them in a roasting tin with water and bake in a moderately hot oven for about fifteen minutes or until set. Remove carefully from the moulds, roll in (lour, brush with egg, and coat with fine bread crumbs. Before frying the creams prepare a sauce. This is not ncc.cssa.ry as they arc good without.
