Land Stock Crops For onion beds there is no better fertilizer than poultry droppings It can be sprinkled on top of the groom I after tic seeds have been planted An occasional feed of milk and su gar is given show horses but these produce soft flesh in general and are not satisfactory except in forcing the young colts Whey is more valuable than may he supposed It contains more sugar than does cream skim milk or butter milk and its use as rood for pigs dem onstrates that it is a valuable sub stance for that purpose The cleaning of cons by using the brush and curry comb on them as well as giving them a scrubbing and rinsing with a sprayer may appear as a waste of labor to those who have never tried the plan but if tho cows were so treated tlis result would be a larger quantity of milk and butter as the cows would be more comfortable It is more important to brush cows than horses as the dirt from cows easily finds its way into the milk The practical value of birds in con trolling insect...
