Democratic Convention. The county democratic conven tion mot at 10 o'clock in tho court house. It was called to order by Judge J J Hawkins, chairman of tho democratic central committee. J G Campbell was unanimously elected temporary chairman aud . after nearly all of tho delegates pres ent had been named for temporary secretary aud declined tho position, some of them on tho plea of being unable to read or write, W. A. Rowe. who was taught to read and write in the good old republican stato of Maine, reconsidered his declination and consented to accpt tho position. A motion to appoint a committeo of five as a committee on credentials was carried, when the chair appointed six as follows: Major E K Otey, of Jerome; C B Genung, Peoples val ley; A A Moore, Walnut Grove; Dennis Burke, Prescott; A G Dillon, "Williamson valley; and E G Wager, Tip Top.
