SEPTEMBER 9,19716 Bond's Resignation Accepted SMITHVILLE- Con- troversial hospital adminis- trator Georges Bond "with deep regret" submitted his resignation to the hospital board Tuesday afternoon. The resignation letter, dated September 6, was presented after the board heard air audit report from board members J.V. Reader, Wallace Snyder, and Carlos Martinez indicating there was no logical system for accounts receivable or insurance claims. The board has in recent months expressed concern over rising accounts receiv- able figures and the lack of cash flow. Bond's resignation is effective immediately. However, he will ramain on the payroll for 30 days pending an audit of the hospital facilities. TEXAS 78957 Greenhouse Prompts Second Look By Diane Huckaby Have you ever wondered what that big greenhouse on the Bastrop highway has inside of it? Do you remem- ber that a tew years ago there was a fiberglass roof then it was replaced with a giant plastic greenhouse? Well, The TIMES went out to the greenhouse and met Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Camp, the owners. The Camps grow tomatoes and sell them to the public. Upon Mr. Camps retirement from the soil conservation Service, he built a small greenhouse for his wife's flowers. After growing them * £ successfully, he decided to try his lick with hot-house tomatoes. Mr. Camp started study- ing all sources of information on tomatoes and became a member of the Greenhouse Growers Association. Then he put his knowledge to work and grew big beauti- ful tomatoes. Speed and agility were both on the Wildcats' side, as Elgin outran Smithville 34-6. The game was character- ized by frequent fumbles -- 14 in all. resulting in 10 turnovers. With four inter- ceptions -- 3 for Elgin and 1 for Smithville — and only two completed passes in the entire game, most of the action was in long runs around the ends. Elgin tallied only 6 first downs. with 3 gained on penalities, while Smithville earned 3. Halfway into the first quarter, Elgin's Ricky Greeson fell on a fumble by.
