Church Meeting. Dr. Linton, the recently arrived bishop of the diocese. The Rev. Mr. Ashworth, incumbent of St. Peter's, was Prevented by illness from attending. His Lordship evinced great interest in the affairs of the local church, and asked many questions in connection therewith. Mr. P. P. Some of my friends, however, can't understand it anyho «v, but that is simply because they are not pureminded individuals and free from guile. They know not the ways of directors and other noble and philan- thropic bipeds. Let me explain the whole matter, dear friends, by quoting a set of rules laid down by 'ari Italian gentleman named Fergus Murphy, of Ballyhogan, in Spain. BOXES. 1. Directors of a silver mine must have sufficient intelligence to know when their bread is to be buttered, :. j 2. They should have been engaged in ! pursuits that usually land a person of I sufficient ability in goal, so-that they may know it is best to ke^'pulf^|^" 3.
