TueRsnAY, Aug. 20. Before Messrs. Bindon, Barwise, and Wylie, Js.P. SANITAIIR PROSECTION. Mr. E. G. Magnus summoned Mary Riordan for having an insanitary yard.! Complainant said that thedefendant's premises were situated in Abbotsford street. It appeared defendant's yard was in a filthy state. She kept cows, and complainant told her that she could not get a license for her dairy unless she kept itcleauer. There was a most un pleasant smell from the yard. A fine of 2:'6 was inflicted. ASSAULT AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. William Dayle proceeded against Eleanor Kelly for damaging his flower pots and pulling palings off his fence. There was also a charge of assaulting Miss Doyle by hitting her with a prop. • The defence was that the Doyles had nailed biards up against Mrs. Kelly's house, and had called ther a "lag."_ Defendant was fined 380-, or 10 days.

ORDINAnY MEETING. The minutes of the ordinary meeting held on 31st ult. were read and confirmed. Correspondence.-Letters were re ceived from Mr. R. O'Connor,Werribee; and Mr. E. L. Zox, M.L.A., re smoke night. The President hlere stated that his first introduction to the anglers of this country was on the Saltwater river in 1891 over a convivial glass, and took this opportunity of inviting all members present to join him now in one. The ex-President (Mr. R. Ferguson) proposed the health of the, newly-elected President, speaking in eulogistic terms of him, and felt sure that the society would prosper under him. Mr. R. Bisset seconded the proposi tion, which was duly honored with "He's a Jolly Good Fellow." The President briefly responded. New Members.-Six were elected. Mr. C. Twite stated that a net had been seized at.Williamstown' last week. The meeting then adjourned till Fri day, 28th inst., on account of the smoke night taking place this evening.
