MONTAGU V COMBINED TEAM A cricket match between Montagu and a team representing Woolnorth, Marrawah,   and Robbins Island was played at Montagu on New Years Day(writes our correspond-   ent). All parts of the district were repre- sented, both in the field and on the ground, and a very enjoyable day was spent. Host Tatlow, from the Commercial Hotel, Stanley had a refreshment booth on the ground and   received a fair share of patronage. The   visitors went first to the wickets and made 37; Montagu followed with 62. In the second   innings the combined team made 33; Mon- tagu, with the loss of one wicket, made 10,   this winning the match by 9 wickets and 2 runs.-. After the days fun there was a ball at night, which was kept up with great spirit until daylight. Montagu intends in the future to have a like turn out on every New Years Day.
