THE examination of the Golden Point prisoners was resumed yesterday, and ended in the committal to tiic sessions of eight out of the ten-two, namely I'evan and I'earson, being discharged, as tlievidence against them was not satisfactory. The prisoners committed are at large on bail- Last night the Gulden I'oint and. Gravel Pits com mittee met at Chidlow's hotel to concert measures for the removal of Mr Warden Smith, and for the proper defence of the men committed for trial. HAVING, in yesterday's issue, briefly noticcd the tea meeting which took place 011 Tuesday evening, in Messrs \lackay, Miller and Maekny's store, in honor of the presence of the Word Bishop of Melbourne and Mrs l'erry, together with the Dean of Melbourne, we now add a lull report of the ad drosses delivered on the dec ision. When tea was finished, the Very Urvcrcnd the De .11 of Melbourne pro nounced u brief and appropriate prayer, after which n hymn was sun.'. The Kevcrend Mr Bennett then ad dressed the meeting.
