Fteel and Tin "Workers began at 11 o'clock yesterday morning, and, with the exception of an hour and a half for dinner, the entire day was taken up In considering the puddlers' and finishers wage scale. The puddlers scale Is the principal one for consideration, and the advance asked Is a moving of the base from 1.4 to 1.3 cents, which, the present price of Iron selling at 2 cents, gives the puddlers an advance of from Jo to a ton. This is regarded as a very liberal demand, and was not seriously opposed by the manufacturers.
