Al though not the largest in population and wealth, Florence is to-duy the most prominent of all the interior places in Arizona. The Southern Overland daily mail and stage line passes through it; the California and Arizona tri weekly mail and stage line connects there; the Silver King and Globe City lri -weekly mail and stage line connects there, and Dodge & Sutherland's tri-weekly stage linu to the King mine and Globe City, has headquarters there. Last Monday morning, both stages to the King and Globe, were loaded inside and out with passengers and all the freight that could be piled in and on them. He ports from the mines are generally Tery good and from some localities better than for months past. The great richness of the King is every where ...

Tins company now have a line of road (with eastern connections,) through Kansas, Colorado and t the very bor dcr of New Mexico, and is still push ing westward. It is nut likely fcuch a hue will be content with an interior terminus. There is a vast scope of country lying between the present overland and Gila valley route which may now be regarded as certain to soon have a road. Sweeny as acting agent until an agent is appoint ed and sent there. Gen. "Win. Van dever is also there, and he telegraphed the Indian office that prompt and care ful action was required in the appoint mcnt of Mr. Clum's successor; that the uncertainty of rule there was in jurious to the service, etc. Up to yes terday, no advice of any appointment was received by 5Ir. Clum, notwitb standing he had several days prior to the 1st instant, advised the Indian Commissioner that he would sever Lis official relations with the Depart ment on July 1. Editor Citizkx: Thinking that not only the many readers of your interest, log paper, hut also the rendurs of oth er instructive papers, might fee more or less interested in the mining inter cats of this portion of the Territory, I have concluded to furnish them with the late results of our mining opera tious up to dure. Last year, after Ewing' work in connection with the Sea Serpent ledge, a young man came into our dis trict, as the Secretary of the Cerro Col orado fining Co., which company, hy the way, after r.n attempt to hring in a mill, dissolved, and soon bewail opera tions on his own account. Afler the dissolution of said company, Capt. Voisard bought and bonded an inter est in several mining locations.
