Belcher, a member of Plymouth Church, tettlfled In the Beecher suit on the 9th, and kid that Mr. Tilton had read to him t the time of the Bowen difficulty papen alleging Improper proposal on the part of Mr. Beecher to Mr. Tilton, which Mr. Tilton emphatically asserted she had re pelled. Mr. Tilton told wltneaa he had In formed Mr. Beecher of Mr. Tllton'a charge of Improper proposal and thrt he (Beecher) bad ald It waa fa' and the woman must he crazy. The witness stated further that Mr. Tilton said his wife had retracted the retrac tion ahe had riven to Mr. Beecher, and that he (Beecher) had confessed and apologized.
