DAILY EVENING STAR. LOCH INTELLIGENCE. Tui: Wf.athes.?This has boon a delightful <iav. the temperature being somewhere at an even point between spring and winter. There was acrispness in the air, which rendered out door exercise invigorating, even in the sun shine. This coolness of the atmosphere was l*;uliar. for notwithstanding a bright sun, the difference of temperature in the sunshine and shade was only a few degrees. The ther mometer outside the Star office in the shade, was at 5ft degrees, and when placed in a posi tion where the sun shone upon it. it only rose a few degree-higher. This was at 11, A.M. Perhaps the difference might have been greater at a more advanced period of the day. The Rec*ptio.xs last night, both at the President's. where a levee was aeld, and at the Pi<stmas:er General *, where Mrs. Campbell gave a soiree, were of a most briiliant char acter, being most largely an i fashionably attended. Of the latter reception it would be impossible to give in lan...
