Junior Weekend: Dickens of a Time For All in 1952 Christmas in Dickens set the theme of the Junior Weekend, "A Christmas Carol," presented by the class of '54 on December 12th, 13th, and 14th. Festivities opened on Friday night with a "Dickens of a Time," as scavengers combed the Boston area for such items as a 1946 license plate, an old-fashioned nightcap, and jelly beans concealed behind a certain tombstone. The hunt ended at the Philomatheia Club, where searchers relaxed about the fireplace and revived chilled limbs and spirits with hot coffee and doughnuts. Couples gathered "Around the Yulelog" at the Moulin Rouge of the Hotel Vendome oil Saturday afternoon, before the "Great Expectations" of the evening. "Tiny Tim's Feast," a formal dinner, was served by candlelight in the college dining room at 6:45. Flaming plum pudding formed the centerpiece of the buffet table, heaped with holiday dishes of turkey and ham. Decorations in the Playhouse created the atmosphere of an old fashio...
