LEE TRUMAN Copley News Servaice Whenever people begin to recover after being seriously ill, I proposition them with the challenge that they might, for the first time in their life, sit down and seriously write out in detail what they think life is all about. Ordinarily our calendar is so full of things that have to be done that there is no time for this kind of abstract, serious consideration. By our taking time to do this kind of life overview, we are always facing the danger of just going through the motions of living and our life goals are both haphazard, and not brought into focus. Dateline Sacramento Capitol New* Service SACRAMENTO (Capitol) - Representatives of seniors, handicapped, children’s, women’s and church groups recently announced the filing of a lawsuit in Sacramento Superior Court to force Howard Jarvis and the Secretary of State to remove, "false and misleading” statements from the official ballot pamphlet concerning Proposition 9. “Jarvis claims that Proposition 9 will give all voters with income a tax savings and that it will give all voters with the same household income the same savings,” said Carl Jones, lead plaintiff in the lawsuit. Jones, president of the California Congress of Seniors, claimed, “More than 90 percent of the 3 million seniors in California pay no state income tax. Census workers needed, says Bradley Citing a severe shortage of paid workers to take the 1980 census in Los Angeles, Mayor Tom Bradley this week made an urgent appeal to the public for residents to apply for jobs as enumerators (counters) and crew leaders. Census Bureau officials say that. workers are urgently needed at the census offices in downtown, East Los Angeles. South Central Los Angeles and Hollywood. Residents of those areas, said the Mayor, should call (213) 485-8121 in Los Angeles for information on how they may apply to work on the census. Appearing with Mayor Bradley at a City Hall news conference to call attention to the census workers shortage was John Reeder, assistant regional director of the census.
