It was a lovely trip round to Ardrishaig (Ar drissik), .through all kinds of lochs, with mountains all round. Then, by ous, :we traversed more lovely scen- t ery to Oban. You just can't describe the country, nor can it be compared C with anything at home. Every little I cottage around about seems to be a small factbry, tnaking hand-woven tartan materials or hand spun and knitted woollen goods. 8/8/50.-We took a day trip to Iona and Fingal's Cave to-day. It I was a lovely trip in the steamer high mountains on both sides most of the way; but the weather got worse as we went further. It was too rough for the little motor boats to take us right into Fingal's Cave, a basalt structure of peculiar formation. But the steamer got withi...

Obituary MR. THOMAS CUMMING. The passing on of Mr. Thomas Cumming, at the age of almost 90, will be learned with regret by his old friends. A son of Thomas and Christina Cumming, of Montrose, Scotland (the latter the daughter of Captain James Ferrier), he and his late respected wife, Christina Cramer, of Sandhurst, whose mother was the daughter of the Rev. He was for many years in charge of the Mounted Rifles in the Alexan- dra district, and was a fine horseman. He won the Crossed Rifles award.
