Shoalhaven District Court. Wednesday, June 7.   A district court was held in Nowra on Wednesday last before His Honor Judge Murray. The business commenced at 10 a.m., and the last case was dealt with by 6.30 p.m. The legal profession was re presented by Messrs. H. L. Whittell, T. Marriott, and Blackmore, with Mr. Kieran Ryan, from Kiama. Pollock v. Dent. Mr. Whitrell for plaintiff, Mr. Married for defendant. Alex. Pollock, of Nowra, sued Mrs. Harriett Deut, of Toweroug, for tho recovery of £35 9a 3d, cordials supplied . The case was set down amongst the undefended actions, and aB such His Honor entered a verdict for plaintiff. The Dietriot Soliool Inspector Mr. L. 'E. Lawford, M.A., who lias fulfilled the duties of Inspector of Schools in this district for the last three years, will l« shortly leaving Nowra for Wagga Wagga, on pro motion ; and there are many persons here, who, whilst glad to see him rising a further grade in the service, will much regret his departure. During the comparatively short time he has been here, Mr. Lawford has boon most at tentive and painstaking in the dis charge of his duties, more no perhaps than any of his predecessors. Yalwal Mining tfisputoa TUE HOMEWARD BOUND MINE. The evidence following that of Wm. Dawson (published in our last issue) in reference to the applications of Mason and party and Booker and party for the one gold-mining lease, portion 14, parish Dangera, , Yalwal, and known as tho Homeward Bound Co.'s lease, is published below. The inquiry was a long and tedious one, occupying the attention of Mr. Warden King at the Nowra court house on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday last. The two applications were heard conjointly. Sixteen witnesses in all were examined, and the Warden's Clerk (Mr. J. M. Hhoahan) had a very busy time of it. Mr. Albert Nicholson, of Sydney, ap peared for Booker and party, and Mr. Blackmore for Mason and party, the former holders of the lease, which owing to non-payment of rent became forfeited on 12th May last HE SAID ' GOD SAVE THE QUEER.' Sydney, Friday, 7 p.m. The dairymen's conference convened by the Berry Dairy Company for the purpose of arriving at a practical solution of the difficulty experienced in the export of butter, was held this afternoon at the store of the Fresh Food and Ioe Company. Mr. John Gray, J.P., of Berry, presided, and there were present about 50 repre sentatives of co-operative dairy com panies, as well as a large number of produce merchants. Mr. D. Kennedy, of Milton, moved— ' That the scheme proposed last month at a meeting of the Ulladulla branch of the N.S.W. Dairy Farmers' Association, and consisting of 14 clauses, be adopted.1' After a lengthy discussion, the motion was negatived on a show of hands by a large majority.
