< THE COMING ELECTION. : -_~— I -TJp to-this time, hardly a note of j preparation has been heard, in this county, for the election which is to take place in less than two weeks. Apathy seems to hare seized bold of both political parties. It is high time bat our fi'ieuds should begin to arouse themselves for the battle, and commence tbat labor which alpne will ensure a respectable majority for the State Ticket. The importance of the present contest can hardly be over estimated.. Indued every State election is important, so long as there are great questions of National importance undecided, and the result in a Commonwealth like Pennsylvania, has a powerful influence in upholding or rebuking the course of a National Administration. In the present in-R'auce, we have a President, from Pennsylvania, who is recreant to all the professions and principles, the promulgation of which, enabled hiin to secure the' vote of his own State—who has ootraged the public feeling of the Nort...

TBS WATIONAX ADMIinSTBATIOH. AT WORK. The present imbecile' and reckless national administration has its hinds full of State and County politics, just now. Its latest caro has been the condition of. things in* this Judicial District, and the providing of a candidate to oppose Judge VVilmot. We are informed that Col. D. M. Bcix, wlio seems to be invested by the Administration with the duties of managing Lecomptbuism iu this section of the State, has been for a week past, making his headquarters at Troy, and from there sending his messages, issuing his circulars, and imploying those means which are deemed most potential in revivifying the Bucuanak party of the Connl7- We are also informed that the great object desired is to obtain a candidate for President Judge, and that expresses are daily dispatched to East Smitbneld, to persuade Judge Bci.lock tb allow himself to be nsed to forward the purposes bf the National Auministration. We have no doubt that their endeavors will end a...
