Rose has been in the city the past two weeks gathering data for a history of Adams county, soon to be published by the Western Historical Publishing Company, of Spokane. The volume when completed will contain histories of the four counties of the Big Bend country and an introductory state history from the date of the earliest explorations on the Pacific coast. Mr. Rose expects to spend some time in the county, examining the records and inter viewing early settlers in this vicinity. "Ikev," the wandering Jew printer, alias Bennixson, alias Nathan Bergman, typographical mixologist, hot air ped dler, and all-round roustabout, drifted back into the burg, on Monday, of last week, ahead of the last wind storm, and has at last decided to quit the butterfly life he has been leading for the past ten days, and will again go back to the case. Loem EVENTS OF THE IEEK TOGETHER WITH A PERSONAL MENTION OP THOSE IN THE iIOVINO PANORAfIA OP LOCAL HISTORY In the controversy being carried on in this county regarding the price of wheat the farmer should sell for, we would give this advice. Hold for the highest price. When the very pinnacle of price for the year has been reached dump your whole crop. That is the most profitable and likely price you can secure. Of course if you only want a reasonable profit and can make money on 50 cent wheat and we satisfied with conservative methods you might dispose of it at the average price now offered, pay off your debts and mortgage and be reasonably happy; which the fellow who holds has a chance of not being able to do. But if you want the highest price get your mind on fcme thing that you think you ought to have and wait until you get it. George E. Butler, of Griffith, and Mrs. Catherine Harris, of this city, were united' in marriage in the par lors of the Vendome hotel in Davenport, on Mo...
