Many farmers will not prow any of the lirst varieties of roots for cattle on ii--otint of the expense of weeding and iroper cultivation and it may not be out of place to remind them that after any grain crop, some kind of manure can be applied and a great many tur nips grown to feed to sheep, to the calves and to any cattle excepting cows giving milk.
