> Library Lines The old saying, "Time flies when you're having a good time" accurately expresses how I feel about my first weeks as your new librarian. I have tru- ly enjoyed meeting so many of the Sachse people. Your kind and generous ways as well as outstanding community spirit are most impressive. Thanks to all of you for making me feel right at home. I have been busy rearranging and reshelving all the books in the library. We will soon have three very well organized rooms: the Adult Fiction and Biography Room, the Adult Non- Fiction and Reference Room and the Children's Room. This has been a great opportunity for me to familiarize myself with the collection. For those of you who have not been in the library recently, you will find, as I have found, by: Sally Koch Your Librarian that the collection is large, varied and filled with current titles. If any of you have any special library needs, we can also obtain books for you through In- ter Library Loan and do reference work fo...

'A, JbiS&tr *1/1 *>' ■ Page 10 SACHSE SENTINEL October 1984 Cowboy Tickets Taxed Under New Tax Law The Dallas Cowboys have a new number in their line-up this year. The new number is 4 and l/8th-that's 4 and l/8th percent sales tax on the price of Cowboy tickets. Sports tickets -- along with tickets to most other entertainment and recrea- tional events - came under the Texas sales tax for the first time ever. The so-called amusements sales tax is part of new tax laws signed by Gover- nor Mark White. If you are going to take in a game or two this year, be ready to pay this new tax of 92 cents on a $15 Cowboy ticket. If you are a season ticket holder, however, you are all right. The new tax law exempts individuals who, in effect, already had contracted for a season's worth of touchdowns and helmet- bashing. The new tax is actually a part of a tax on entertainment, and all other profes- sional sports events in Texas will fall under the tax. College games are not subject to the ta...
