APLINE VILLAGE AT MOUNT BULLER. To the Editor. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton, Taggerty and Acheron Express — 27 October 1950

APLINE VILLAGE AT MOUNT BULLEl. To the Editor. Sir,-A statement made by Mr. T. W. Mitchell, M.L.A., in the R.S.L. Hall at Wodonga, when addressing elec tors during the last State election campaing, convinced me that it would be interesting to many people to know some of the facts in connection with the development of an Alpine village at Mt. Buller. Mr. Mitchell stated, "In the matter of an Alpine village as a tourist at traction and to provide ski sporting facilities for country people, I am glad to say that I was successful in having one established at Mt. Buller." While nobody wishes to take any credit from anyone who is entitled to it, the above statement was to some of us rather surprising, to say the least. It will be readily realised that for many years there have been many peo ple who have been interested in the development of Mt. Buller, and that some of these people have done much planning and work to bring about the desired result on the mount. Individ ual members of vari...
