Nicholas. ■ Tha correspondence' was chief ly of a formal nature,-the most important being a communication from the Minister fo? Works confirming the appointment of Mr.' H. J. Thornnyke as temporary shire clerk. The police not having' completed the compilation of the rolls, and there being 110 further business to transact, the meeting adjourned. Mr. Thorndyke took up his duties in th'e Masonic Chambers, Argyle-street, on Monday last.
