Brief SCeatioa. Mr. Dillon, who has been nominated by Rev. E. Wootton as assistant minister in the Shoalhaven Church of England parish, will probably enter upon his duties in a fortnight's time. Gentlemen on board the pleasure steamer at Nowra on Friday \iere hoard to remark (above the bridge) was grander than that of the Hawkesbury. The celebrated Tourist Bureau firm (Messrs. The Governor's Knightood. RECOVERY OF THE LOST STAR. [Newspaper Article] — The Shoalhaven News and South Coast Districts Advertiser — 10 June 1893

The Q-overaop's Eaighthoocl Recovery of the Lost Stab. Sir Robert Duff's star of knight hood, which was lost (luring his visit to Nowra, and for which it is said a reward of £50 was offered, was found on Wednesday morning last in front of the School of Arts by a boy named George Aito. Sir Robert, who missed ?t i , - 1.11*1 me scar as nc entered tne oanrootn on Friday night, was positive that he had lost it between the building and the banqueting hall. Close searches were made for the decoration up to the time it was discovered, but many persons wero afraid that it would bs so damaged by exposure as to be no longer of use. But this was not so. The star was found to be uninjuted, and has been forwarded to Sydney. When Sir' Robert missed the jewel in the ballroom he had just remarked to one of the committee in praiseworthy terms of the building's decorations, and, suddenly making the discovery, he added ' Why, I've lost my own.'

A match is to be played in Nowra to-day betweon the Nowra and Kan garoo Valley Tennis Clubs. A ladies match between Nowra and Kiama has been arranged for Saturday next, at Kiama. The very successful season of the Currumbene cricket Club was termin ated by a most enjoyable social held at Mr. James Dent's residence on Friday evening of last week, and attended by a large number of ladies and gentle men. The Speight Cup, won by the club in a district competition, was presented to Mr. James Dent, whose character as a citizen and sportsman, and his liberal support to the local club, were referred to by several speakers in kindly terras.
