Frederick Clarke, who lately escaped from the Geolong gaol with Farrell, was captured at Waubra, abouit 18 miles from Ballarat, this morning by Constable Loton of Lexton. He found the con= vict in an old but by the wayside, the constable tiking him: y surprise~ handcuffed him at. .once. On tile mantelshelf there was a large carring knife,' apparently recehtly :sharpened. ." You are Clarke " said the officer, and Clarke replied " No, I am a poor swag man." The constable, however, found tile tattoo marks' on" his arni, ;inc he then admitted his identity. He had got rid of his prison clothes, and wore the watch stolen. from warder Cane. He was brought before the Ballarat Police Courtto-day, and remanded to'Geelong.
