DECREASE IN CRIME. A recent copy of the 'San Francis co Journal' gives some remarkable figures on the results of Prohibition in that 'wet' State. Th*? article is headed: 'State Statistics Uphold Dry Law: Official reports show less Crirn*-. and Decreased Pauperism: Bank De posits show Increase of Forty-e.'ght per cent ic three years,' and con tinues ?.'California has responded to the boon of Prohibition with, decrease in crime, drunkenness, insanity, and pauperism, and increases in bant de posits, number of depositors, and genera! dr-niestic happiness.
