On the following morning sight; rabbits were found inside the netting, ofe the second 180, on the third 451, on the fourth 351, on the fifth 298, on the sixth 222, and on the seventh— the last morn ing of 'which vre have a record — 90 ; making a total of 1500 for the week. Wool and Produce Reports. The Sydney Woolbrok6rs'! Association report as follows for week ending Jan 12th. ?WOOL. Sales hare been resumed during the past week after the Christmis and New I ear honors ana nave progressed favorably. Under brisk competition from all sections of the trade, values re mained very firm at the closing rates of December (which were the best of the season), and towards the close of the week an improving tendency set in in regard to the medium to better classes of wool, and the market for the week closed in a very healthy condition. Another Grenfell Bank Sensation. [Newspaper Article] — The Canowindra Star — 18 January 1901

Another Grenfell Bank Sensation. Scabcely seven months have elapsed since Gvenfell was wakened by the news that Mr. It. C. S. Wilkinson, the manager of the local branch of the Bank of Now South WaleSj had been shot at the back door of the bank premises by a man supposed to be m search of treasure ; whatever the object, no robbery was attempted ; the only exploration made was by tx- bullet through Mr. Wilkinson's anatomy. The affair remains shrouded in mystery, and probably oro long will be consigned to lie limbo uf things for gotten. But just' how, the dull palate of Gren fel is being tickled by a fresh sensation, concerning a matter really more serious than the episode of last May. Of Mr. Wilkinson's it may be said ' 'All's well that end's well,' but in the case of tb.-) Union Bank the disappearance of a v.»ry large sum of money is coincident frith the non-retum of the accountant (Ijy. W. H. Woodiall), who left (xreuf ell vu- Syd ney on, Sunday, the 30th Dece-.Aber, for the purpose...

Cudal. [Newspaper Article] — The Canowindra Star — 18 January 1901

Cudal. (From a Correspoudent.) Tlai-vesting ojierations have now eon ?cluiled throughout the district, and as a -whole the crops hove turned out satis factory, yielding up to eight bags per ticre. ' 'WTieat, which was cut bv the reaper and binder, is now being manipu lated by the threshing machine which commenced work after the holidays at Mr- E. Taylor's, junr., farm, where the whole plant, stacks, etc., narrowly es caped being destroyed by fire which started in close proximity to the machine, presumably from a spark from one of the men's pipes. Fortunately, plenty of hands were on the spot, and succeeded after a short and sharp battle, in ex tinguishing the conflagration. During last week fierce south-westerly winds have been blowing every day, raising clouds of dust and making out of door exercise very unpleasant, though the temperature is considerably lower than it was at Christmastide, ranging between 70 and 80 degrees. I regret, to have to report that our rector, the Rev. W. T...

General Ghat. Always listen to life's failures. From them is learnt the secret of success. Churchgoers in Sydney have of lata been treated to an iuor.dina.te amount of hlo\r ifroin the pulpit as regards the '? glory of Britain ' etc. The glory of Britain is all right, but a littltj g-oss a loug -way. — The Victorian ?-oss, for instance.
