In accordance -with an ads'er tisement which appeared in our last issue, upwards' of thirty persons put in an appearance at Winterford's Hall on Mon day evening last ito discuss the possibility of havinp a dnv's racing in Nambour on St. Pat rick's Day. March 17th. Mr. J. T. Lowe was voted to the chair, and briefly explained the objects of the meeting. Before the matter went too far, he thought they should appoint a committee to inspect the old Nambour Estate^ as the most suitable place, and see if a course could: be got on it, such committee to report to another meeting to be held later on. Messrs. W- Hi Duffy* and Co., fruitmerchauts,of:Roma-street, handle*3- tile plums and apricots, and had no difficult}- in dis posing of them;. . The fruit was in beautiful I condition, and packed and gifaded splendidly owing to! the ? careful instruc tions given by Mr. Yoller, fruit expert,: who recently visited the farm. ? The apricots were wrapped; round in tissue paper, and placed in cardboard boxes, \thich;: were in turn placed in pineapple cases. AT MONTVILLE AND MAPLETOX. On Saturday last Mr. Denham, Minister for Agriculture, and Mr. J. D. Campbell, M.L-A. lor More ton, paid a visit to the Mapleton district. As thev were on a visit to Maleny on Friday, the3- decided to make a circuitous route and so take in Montville and Mapleton. They were entertained at Montville by Mr. Edward Smith, and, after inspecting the new School of Arts and some of the orchards, left at 5 p.m. for Mapleton, accompanied by Messrs. W. J. Smith and E.
