A Double Misfortune. WIFE SUFFERS FIRST, THEN HUSBAND. On Monday evening Percy Bastow, aged 20 years, visited the residence of his aunt, Mrs W. Hughes, of Belmont street. Baslow is a young man of dissolute habits, and, notwithstanding a prohibition order had been taken out against him on the previous Saturday, was under the influence     of drink. He had with him a half con- sumed flask of whisky, which he proceeded to drink in the presence of his uncle and aunt. Mr Hughes remonstrated with him, and succeeded in emptying the whisky out on the floor, but Bastow still retained possession of the bottle. At this stage A. Brackley, son-in-law to Mr Hughes, entered the room, whereupon Bastow exclaimed, "You're the — I'm after," and hurled the bottle at his head. Brackley dodged, and the bottle smashed against the corner of a dresser and broke into fragments. Several of   these struck Mrs Hughes, who was standing near, cutting her face severely, and d...
