In a report regard ing the scheme, Professor Perkins. the director, says : " If these plots are to fulfil their legitimate ends, it is essential that local opinion and sympathy should be enlisted on their behalf. They are called uponrto-play the part of small local State farms, hence the need of calling to our aid the local branches of the Agricultural Bureau. I propose, therefore, that apart from exceptional cases, farm p!ots should be established only in localities in which branches have been formed. Ii -vould then rest with members of. the branches to suggest suiitable sites for the pur pose; the director, however, would decide finally in their acceptance. F?ootball Notes. The Ouycn and District Foot ball Association are calling a meet int?:ct '? =ote- for next Monday ev-.g at ,:ers' i-otei. It is to be hIped that representatives from all clubs will be present, and a move made towards getting going for the 1915 sea-on. A. matter that is worthy of consideration by the Association is the making of a .charge for admission to the ground -for ma:ches played in Ouven, at any rate. rWhy shouldn't the public contribute a share towards expenses ? It is rumored that there wilt be only four clubs this season-viz., Onyen, Tiega, \Valpeup and a comhined team from Nunga and Timberco. Should the latter teams combine the result should be a strong one, equal to any team in the Association. It is time secretaries for the different clubs should call meetings and get their members together, so I that some idea of the strength of each club may be gained. On Saturday, 1st May, the re turn match between Railways and Ouyen wil! be played. It is in tended to ...
