The rain came down in .torrents for a short time, and altogether sixty-two points were regis tered. What might have proved a very serious conflagration occurred during the progress of the storm. O'Neill and Co. report:-Cattle -510 fat, 25 stores and 25 calves forward for last week's supply, the quality of which con sisted chiefly of inferior to medium beef, with only a few pens prime. There was only a moderate attendance of buyers, but previ ous week's top rates were not maintained,the reduction being most noticeable in inferior sorts. We quote best pens of bullocks, £7 10s. to £8 12s. lid.; others, £5 to £6 10s.; cows, best, £6 to £7 ; others, £4 to £5 10s., and have sold 4-0 head for Messrs.
