Peculiar Death. : ' Londor, April 26. I An inquest was held yesterday into the circumstances surrounding tho death of -a man who was described as a professional swallower., ? He per formed in several shows in Loudon, and ussd to eat chains, saucers, and other solid articles. The evidence of the doctors who. mado the postmor tem examination showed that they hr.d found that the intestines contained a bullet, 30 corbs, and a Btring 18in. long. The corks were attached to a ^leather band which had hooks ab the ends. There were also pieces of tin-foil in tho intestines. The jury-returned a verdietof death from misadventure:

Boydell writes as follows to tbe 'Maitland Mercury': — 'Sii-, — Regarding the reported gold, finds near Dnngog, it may be interesting to those who speak of the improbability of any alluvia1 deposits, to know what .an old blackfellow of the Grengai, tribe has told me over and over again. At the time old 'Long'svTackj' told me this story he was perfectly blind He was ono.of the original wild blacks when my father came here in the year 1826, and only died about, ten years ago. 'Wheu I was a wild fellow I was getting a drink at a stream between Cobark and 'Wangat (as- near as I could tell by bis description), and picked up a lot of heavy yellow stuff, very heavy. I know it was gold, but at that time I wub a stupid fellow and. threwitaway. I went up with some blacks to try and find the place, but failed to do so.' .
