Flower Service at Bong Bong. [Newspaper Article] — The Scrutineer and Berrima District Press — 30 November 1892

Flower Scrvico at Bong; Song. Christ Church, Bone Bong, is a pretty subject for a sketch at any tnne, but on Sunday morning last the sketchcr would have found greater scopo for his pencil than usual. How like tho littlo village churches in the home counties of England is this charming and picturesquely situated church at Bong Bong. Ihc scene surrounding is one of real beauty. As one approaches along a pretty slope on tho Bowral road presently the sacred edifice and its neat little vicarage peeps forth from among tho bush trees wnicn are chiclly ri tho eucalyptus order. Away at the foot of the hill tho Wingccarribco River flows, winding through the green meadow flats with the sheep nnd cattle grazing around, crossed here by an excellent bridgo making quite a poaeohil and truly rustic scenc in keeping with tho sacred cdifice. Then the littl.c burial grouud at the rear of the well-kept church- yard where ' Spectral Silence pointoth to Decay, How prcachoth Wisdom to the conscious breath...

Associated Cricket Clubs, The scheme for electorate crioket says the Sydney 'Morning Herald seems to be pro gressing apace. 'We hear of associations ' clubs forming in all directions, and in a : little while we may begin to look for dofinite results. The principle underlying the scheme is undoubtedly a good one. What it is expectea to do is to produce the name condition of rivalry and emulation in Sydney as suburban cricket do9s in Melbourne and ceunty cricket in England. It providos a means of keeping the interest in the game alive by exciting local feoling in tho matter ; . ' and really, anything that can teed to prevent such a condition of things as ve ?witnessed a little while ago Bhould be en couraged in every posaiblo way.
