Augur, con cerning the exposed condition of our Southwestern frontier, and urging that a force of cavalry be stationed on our borders, Gen. Augur, under date of July 6th, writes : "Nothing has been received from Fort Tfcuo that in any way change my views as expressed by me in pre vious letter, as to the apprehended outbreak of the Cheyenne;. In my judgment, there will be no such out break. I know very well, however, that this opinion is not going to relieve from anxiety thoc settlers on the frontier whose families arc directly exposed in case of hostilities on the part of the Indians.
